![]() Once you have the replacement part, you can watch how our Shark technician goes about completing this repair by watching our video down below. Below, you can find the Shark micro switch that is in every Shark Rotator and Navigator vacuum, as well as most other models. Replacing a Shark micro switch is a relatively easy fix, but it’s essential to ensure that you have the correct replacement part for your vacuum model. It’s a critical part of the vacuum’s motorized brush system, and when it’s damaged or worn out, the brush roll won’t turn even if the motor is running. Once the switch is damaged, you will find that no matter what you do, the brush will not move. This small switch tells the vacuums brush when to start spinning. If you checked your brush roll, floor setting, and belt but your brush roll is still not spinning, that means you probably need a Shark micro switch replacement. Below, we explain the issue and show you how to fix it.

![]() They think more deeply about things, experience more intense emotions, and have heightened sensitivity to stimuli of all kinds. Research shows that gifted individuals experience the world differently from the norm. Acknowledging that the environment in which a gifted individual is raised and educated has a huge impact on that person’s subsequent accomplishments, and that achievement test scores are strongly influenced by socioeconomic circumstances, many school districts now also assess for potential to excel not yet expressed in test results or accomplishments. The federal definition is based on the 1972 Marland Report to Congress, and emphasizes five areas of giftedness in considering students for placement in special programs: intellectual, academic, creativity, leadership, and visual and performing arts. IQ tests also fail to identify giftedness in those who do not have the test-taking skills or cultural knowledge to score well. However, this simple measure of giftedness has several weaknesses, including the fact that a full-scale IQ score will average out verbal and mathematical abilities, may mask giftedness when there is a learning disability present, and fails to account for other forms of giftedness, including the arts or music. ![]() Initially, giftedness was defined as scoring greater than 2 standard deviations above the mean (over 130, in the top ~2%) on an IQ test, such as the Stanford-Binet or the Wechsler (WISC or WAIS). Defining giftedness has been a topic of ongoing debate in the academic and educational community for decades. Once that’s done you can choose the front hair, bangs and the back hair. Finally, we had the special for the night, which was shrimp and grits with Tabasco butter with a scrumptious fried egg with a runny yoke. After the oysters, we enjoyed a small plate with spicy tuna on crispy rice, which had wonderful flavor. ![]() Obviously we enjoyed some wine with our meal, but we believe in enjoying a wine of your preference versus worrying about a specific pairing, so red or white wine works well with seafood for us. We started with a dozen oysters, of course, which were wonderful. We really appreciate the farm to table and, in this case, sea to table approach that provides the freshest ingredients that are in season at the time. One of the things we really like about Jax is their commitment to sustainable seafood sources as well as sourcing their food from local farmers. The goal of Jax Fish House is to serve fresh seafood to land locked communities and they fly in their seafood fresh everyday. You can group students based on their reading level. Lit circles give kids an opportunity for choice. Another of our favorite feedback protocols is PQS (praise, question, suggestion). Use breakout rooms to put students into pairs or small groups for peer editing and feedback. This is your opportunity to remediate and fill in the gaps. Differentiate instruction by designing learning tasks for each breakout room and strategically grouping students. You may feel pressure to slow down or teach lower than grade level content. One of the biggest worries about lost learning time is that students have fallen significantly behind. Students can type in the chat if they’ve changed their minds. When everyone comes back together, each speaker shares out. Once in their rooms, students develop an argument and choose a group speaker. Place students into breakout rooms based on their chosen stance. ![]() Students type their stance into the chat. Give students time to think and make a choice. Tell them that there are four stances they can take: strongly agree, agree, strongly disagree, and disagree. In the main room share a statement with your students. Students read their section together, discuss it, and choose a speaker to summarize what they read to the whole group once the breakout rooms close. Put the students into breakout rooms where each room represents one page. Put it in the learning management system or whatever organizing tool you use (class website, Seesaw, etc). First, make sure your kids have access to the text. It also deepens reading comprehension as students focus on one page. This activity works especially well when you have a long text, but you are short on time. Pro tip: ask students to grab a favorite book before the class meets online. Mix up the pairs so your kids can get to know each other and build relationships. Pop into the rooms to listen for fluency and expression, ask questions, and informally assess comprehension. ![]() But what about reading to each other? Pair students so they can buddy read in a breakout room. We love that students can read to a sibling or caretaker when they are learning from home. Our favorite ways to use breakout rooms: 1) Book Buddies If you plan to use breakout rooms consistently, it’s important to find out what students’ experience was like so you know what adjustments or supports you need to put into place. Poll for feedbackīecause working in breakout rooms is new for students, use the polling feature to gather student feedback once everyone is back in the main room. You can send a message from the main room to all the breakout rooms to keep your students’ on task, share directions, or add other helpful reminders. When teachers facilitate small groups in brick and mortar classrooms, they often display a visual timer or remind students how much time they have left. Moving in and out of the breakout rooms also holds kids accountable for the learning task. These check-ins allow you to ask clarifying questions, build on students’ ideas, and observe. It’s the virtual version of circulating your classroom to check in on small groups. You can leave the main room and pop into breakout rooms. Establish a routine where students know that breakout rooms are a consistent part of learning online. It’s important to lower the stakes when you are introducing a new tool. Show them a short video that explains how the rooms work. Most importantly explain why you will use them.
